Community Intervention Services, Inc. works to enhance community safety, empower residents, and implement community-based safety initiatives and re-entry services for the holistic health and development of South Los Angeles.
The highest priority of Community Intervention Services (CIS) is to implement and promote effective programs that serve the areas in Los Angeles that need them most. We believe in community-based safety initiatives, taking action with urgency in order to provide immediate service interventions, and raising public awareness about some of the most pressing issues facing today’s society.

Our Roots
Community Intervention Services (CIS) works with everyday residents to increase individual self-sufficiency and impact the material conditions of Black and Brown people in South Los Angeles.
CIS believes in community-based safety initiatives, programs, and interventions that prioritize Black and Brown people and ensures equitable access to programs that empower individuals and families, provide resources, and navigate residents to opportunities that will help them thrive.

Community Intervention Services, Inc. is a dedicated team of Los Angeles natives with 40+ years of combined experience implementing programs and providing quality services to at-risk populations in South Los Angeles.

REENTRY SERVICES
Helping Those Who Need Us Most
The re-entry program is an intensive individualized case management employment-focused initiative targeting individuals recently released from long-term incarceration. The program functions on the premise that individuals who obtain greater economic prosperity in combination with immediate service interventions and wraparound care are less likely to return to destructive activities.
In recognizing the continuous effects of community trauma on client decision-making and prosperity, Community Intervention Services, Inc. (CIS) employs a team of case managers and community intervention workers (CIWs) who provide comprehensive wraparound trauma-informed youth services (i.e., vocational training, workshops, employment counseling, and family care packages, to name a few, to enhance client lifestyle while they pursue stability.
The Community Intervention Services team has over 30 years of experience implementing re-entry services, operating with client employment as a primary focus for individual success.
